The Mic-Line Plus takes all of the great features of our iPhone-Mic-Line and adds a secondary cable to allow monitoring of your recordings with the use of 3.5mm headphones.

If you are not familiar with our original Mic-Line here is a brief description. Headset Buddy allows you to record from line-level audio source with a 3.5 mm connector such as a mixer or soundboard to an iPhone, smartphone or tablet. The headset connection only has a mono mic input so, although you can connect a stereo signal, it will only record in mono. The Mic-Line Plus also includes a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack which allows you to connect standard headphones so that you can hear exactly what is being recorded by your device*.

*Requires you to use a recording app such as FiRe 2.6, Rode Rec or StudioMini that have monitoring feature.

How it Works:
  1. From the line out of your audio source, plug in the cable required ex.(XLR male to 3.5mm TRRS male).

  2. Insert the male 3.5mm (1/8 in.) TRRS plug into the female end of the Mic-Line Plus (Blue Line In).

  3. Plug your 3.5mm headset into the Headset jack on Mic-Line Plus (Green)

  4. Plug the male end of the Mic-Line Plus into your phone, laptop, etc.*

  5. The device will recognize this as an external audio source and turn its internal microphone off allowing you to record using the external source.

  6. Camera App will not allow headset monitoring. You do need an app that allows headset monitoring. Mic-Line Plus will work without the headset line being used, same as Mic-Line.

*You will need a lightning, USB-C, or USB adapter depending on your device. Please note: Apple brand lightning adapters DO NOT work on iPhones besides iPhone 12.

Combine your Headset Buddy Mic-Line with any of these adapters for more uses:

PLEASE NOTE: This adapter is NOT for recording from microphones. Please see our "Dynamic Mic to Smartphone" or "ECM Mic to Smartphone" adapters for these purposes. Also, sound input for smartphone connections is mono but most apps split the sound into left and right channels for playback in both ears. You are able to input stereo sound; however, playback will only be in the left ear.

-This Mic-Line Plus is mono
-Dual 3.5mm female to 3.5mm male
-Attenuation -17 dBV
-TRRS(male end), TRS(female ends)
-Cord length 12 inches

Q: When I open Facebook Live my audio defaults to iPhone mic instead of Mic-Line, what can I do?
A: Open your Facebook Live app, then plug your lightning adapter into your phone!
Q: Do you have adapters with other connection types?
A: Yes.   We have 3.5mm, 1/4" and XLR variations of our Line-Level adapter!

    Clean Live Audio Signal

Posted by Jay on 29th Nov 2021

This did exactly what I needed. When I go live into my iPhone from my interface I was getting heavy static and a dirty signal. This little $25 cable fixed everything. I am thrilled. Thank you! I have been searching for a long time and finally found this solution.
